Lighting Design: Kyle Stephens

Kyle Stephens has been a lighting technician for over 15 years starting his love for painting with light in high school at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts. Over the years he has designed many works in his own company including, Reefer Madness, Heathers, Who Knows and Jesus Christ Superstar. Since covid Kyle found a second love in film and has a quickly growing CV with Netflix and Disney+ on both a local and international scale. Kyle runs and owns Theatrical Gaffer. He makes movies and paints light. Kyle has a strong passion for helping out his community and making sure something can be the best it can be.  When he was asked to assist with Terminus one day before preview he couldn’t help himself.

Lighting designer wise, with Terminus, it was decided to portray a minimalist approach using a background colour to represent moods and feelings. When we talk with angry tones we go red, when more neutral we stay blue. Each character was assigned a special, giving them each a light they needed to perform with as they approach their ending scene.

Special Thanks To….
